Connect TAB Router
Use the included Ethernet cable to connect TAB Router to your internet modem or gateway, then connect power and allow the router to start.
Join the WiFi network
Use the personalized WiFi name and password supplied with the router. Connect the phones, computers, TVs, consoles, and other devices you want managed.
Open your customer portal
Sign in to review connected devices, adjust protection, create family profiles, set schedules, block supported services, and contact support.
What happens when a device requests a domain
Devices usually ask DNS to translate a domain name into an address. TAB Router checks that request against its configured protection rules before forwarding allowed requests to the encrypted upstream DNS provider.
1. Device requests a domain
A connected device sends its DNS request through TAB Router.
2. Protection rules check it
Known ad, tracker, malware, and selected service domains can be blocked.
3. Allowed requests continue
Allowed DNS requests are sent to the configured upstream provider using DNS-over-HTTPS.
DNS-based filtering reduces many ads and trackers, but cannot remove every ad. Ads served from the same domain as the requested content may still appear.
